Below is a very tentative schedule. Unless maked as confirmed the time, topic, and/or speaker is subject to change. While each timeslot is 30 minutes long (assuming roughly 20mins + 10mins for questions), there's no absolute requirement for anybody's talk to go that long, so I'd like to stress that there will be plenty of opportunity for people to do a 5-10min "lightning" demo of something, so please consider volunteering for this. Preparation is optional. It's amazing how easy it is to fill the time.
As you can see, there's a gap in the schedule in the afternoon. Let me know if you want to fill it. We can shuffle things about to put the space in the morning if necessary.
For the "Desktop Applications" and "Desktop Environment" sessions grew out of a single session Cameron volunteered to do. I split it up because I thought it would be a bit much for newbies to dive straight into a talk about GNU/Linux desktop environments, and it would be nice to mention at least a few apps up front that were available for other (proprietary) platforms. (Discuss below if you think that's a bad move.) Consequently it would be unfair on Cameron to demand he did double the work, so I thought we could encourage some other people to follow him in demonstrating their favourite apps or desktop environment. Cameron uses KDE most of the time, and is familiar with GNOME; I use GNOME most of the time, and have used XFCE in the past; anybody else?
While it would be great to have had this schedule fixed by roughly three weeks ago, there is always time to volunteer to do something right up to Saturday. Let me know in the comments below or email me.
