Stuff is on its way

I've just been notified of the eminent arrival of our Software Freedom Day Team Supplies. We need to come up with an event for this year. Any sugestions???

Below is the notification we were sent...

Hello SFD team leader,

If you're receiving this email, it's because you are on our list to receive team supplies to support your SFD event on 19 September this year.

We have now dispatched the following to you, or will be dispatching within the next two days:
 * 3 x T-shirts
 * 20 x balloons
 * 1 x OpenEducation DVDs
 * 20 x Ubuntu 9.04 CDs

If you would like to purchase more T-shirts, they are available at our online store: http://sfd.openfreeway.org/.

Good luck with your preparations!

Market stalls?

Allison suggested market stalls as a non-labour-intensive way to get the message out. If somebody else can take responsibility for contacting the local markets to see if they'll give us a free/cheap stall (preferably with electricity, or else we get as many laptops as we can working in rotation), I can arrange the following:

  • CD/DVD ISOs:
    • Free Software for Windows/Mac (of course lot of Ubuntu CDs as well)
    • Free books
    • Free music
    • Free videos
  • Printed material:
    • Generic free software promotional flyers
    • Flyers promoting local freedom-friendly resources

Any other ideas?
