Antivirus Software?

I just had to respond to a windows user who is temporarily using Ubuntu (Karmic) until they can get Windows back. They were concerned about the lack of Antivirus software. Apart from my hopeless grammar what do you think? Am I right? How would you have responded? Here is my response:

I have never, ever heard of anyone getting a virus on Ubuntu. It is
technically possible however, it is more likely that a pelican will
steal your laptop. I don't run any anti-virus software on my Ubuntu
laptop and have never had any problems.

If you really want to install an anti-virus scanner it is simple.
Make sure you are connected to the net and click on the following:
Applications > Ubuntu Software Center
Search for 'virus', you will get a few anti-virus scanner programs
listed just choose Virus Scanner and click on it to install. It will
prompt you for your password. Then the system will download and install
it.

You can install all sorts of wierd wonderful stuff via the Ubuntu
Software Center, it is nearly all open-source which means it was built
by a community of community minded nerds, like me :) No charge.

have a lovely day, and look out for pelicans.
