Just can't leave Linux

I just can't change from Linux.  I have threatened to do so for some time as I floundered in the "don't know nuffin' department" of getting things calibrated to the computer system.

I have had more frustration than is really needed over Hp printers, having changed Hp printers 4 times becasue of a scanner compatibility problem.

I think the heart (ache) wanted me to give it all up and go Bill Gates, but my mind said, hang in there, the benefits are worth it.

I changed to Ubuntu 10.4, bought a "Known" compatible Hp printer only to find out that Ubuntu has a bug that stops the scanner system working.....%$@&&^!!!@$   and a few more such words.

However, with the great advice and leadership from out beloved Matthew, and the easy     assistance from another bloke I know, we got Ubuntu de-bugged and the scanner working.

Maybe Matthew will explain this a bit more....

Would you believe that changing the printers name B109a to B109a-m fixed the problem.

All I have to do now is to sort the screen resolution thingo out as the Net pages are much too large.  My flat screen monitor is "Not Known". and the highest resolution is about 800 x 600 or summit!

But I am now fully addicted to Linux.
