Myths, Lies, and Truths about the Linux kernel

Linux (that's the kernel, as theres no 'GNU/' at the front) developer Greg Kroah-Hartman delivered the closing keynote talk at this years Ottawa Linux Symposium on Myths, Lies, and Truths about the Linux kernel. A few of his observations include:

  • Linux supports more devices "out of the box" than any other operating system ever has.
  • Linux supports more different processors than any other operating system ever has.
  • Closed source kernel modules are illegal, unworkable, and unethical.
