I just can't change from Linux. I have threatened to do so for some time as I floundered in the "don't know nuffin' department" of getting things calibrated to the computer system.
I have had more frustration than is really needed over Hp printers, having changed Hp printers 4 times becasue of a scanner compatibility problem.
I think the heart (ache) wanted me to give it all up and go Bill Gates, but my mind said, hang in there, the benefits are worth it.
Oh! No! a Bug on Linux. I am still with Ubuntu6.06, Yes I know a bit behind the times, but it has been good enough for my skill (I laugh) level.
The Bug is designated #276640
Having trouble attaching to a Brother printer, I cleverly decided to use another small computer and have XP loaded, to run the printer, and then to set up a KVM switch between my Linux computer and the XP one.
I do not know if it was coincidence or not, but I opened the Linux computer, ready to play with my new gadgets to find that all the pages are much too big for the screen resolution.
Hi,
I just wanted to introduce myself as I am staying in Coffs for a few weeks over Christmas and will be moving here later in the year when my daughter has finished vocal cord surgery at Sydney Children's Hospital.
I was actually just mucking around with a USB DVB-T twin tuner I bought ages ago, which I had just hooked onto my MSI Wind netbook to try and was happy when I fired up Kaffeine, a KDE video viewer that has good support for PC TV, and wanted a channel list to get it started.
Hi everyone. After reading a bunch of doc over the last couple of weeks in my holiday to give myself a good understanding of how this OS works, as of this morning, I seem to have joined the ranks of GNU/Linux users. It wasn't quite what I expected; it was definitely more awesome.
Could some kind soul explain the steps in changing from Evolution mail to Thunderbird, Please, and without losing emails.
Thank you in advance
My old Dell Inspiron 8500 beast has carked it, so I'm in the market for a new lappy. I'll do my usual humming and hah'ing for a few weeks then eventually by some other boring hunk of plastic and wires. In the meantime would anyone like to entertain me with suggestions of what I should buy? My needs are pretty basic up to a point. 90% of the time I'm in a web browser 9% of the time I'm editing text/code and 0.9% of the time I'm watching Dr. Who, The IT Crowd or some other teev.
Hi all,
I'm on the chlug mailing list, and I don't mind staying on it for the chance there might be some interesting topics come up.... However, my spam filters have started picking up the spam on the list at such a level that mails are now being bounced at SMTP time. So now the list has informed me I'm being banned due to the excessive bounces.
Is there any chance of better spam handling on the list? Or otherwise ignoring bounces (I think the bounces would have some spam assassin headers to hint at why they are being bounced).
Hi All,
Just thought I'd open a thread for us to provide suggestions, links and recomendations to open source video editing solutions. I'd prefer to stick to linux as this is the Club Linux website, but I know a few people are interested in making stuff work on their Microsoft machines.
I couldn't remember the name of the gnome video editing project today, so here it is:
